Two Thumbs up for Captain America!

This 2011 Comic Book Movie is worth the eleven bucks I paid to get in and see it!! The movie takes place during the 1940's, where every able bodied man wanted to enlist in the Army and protect American soil. Chris Evans plays Steve Rogers who wants to be a soldier but is constantly denied because of his size and laundry list of medical problems. Steve later catches the eye of a scientist named Stanley Tucci, who approves him for the army and later performs an experimental procedure transforming Steve from a punk to a hunk. The story line gets interesting as Captain Steve Rogers aka (Mr. Sexy Pants, *Giggle*) comes face to face with his rival, the German Villain, Johann Schmidt played by Hugo Weaving, who is also Stanley Tucci's experiment gone wrong. ( Did you get that?) You know the deal, Hero vs. Villain, battle, saves world and gets girl. Well not quite, Captain Steve Rogers aka. Captain America and the beautiful Peggy played by Hayley Atwell, never really get together but the chemistry is evident and sealed by a very brief kiss. ( Loved Peggy's bright red lips... Hwot!)


For the record, I am sssooo not into these Comic Book Movie re-makes, but I really did enjoy this one. Captain America and my buttery movie popcorn topped off my Sunday just fine.

Amy Winehouse was found dead by ambulance crews called to her home in North London's Camden area. Amy Winehouse is famous for her soulfully rich sound that grabbed everyone's attention. The songstress is also well known for her song "Rehab" which told her real life story all too well.Winehouse struggled publicly with an overwhelming addition to drugs and alcohol. She will be remembered for her unique style, rebellious stance and the imprint of her "God given" musical  talent. Rest In Peace Amy Winehouse.

Ja Rule Gets 28 Months for Tax Evasion

Rapper Ja Rule was sentenced to 28 Months in prison for failing to pay over One Million Dollars in Back taxes! Ja Rule 35, whose real name is Jeffrey Atkins was already serving a two year sentence for weapons charges!! Ja Rule claims to have lacked the proper financial guidance during the early years of his career. Between 2004 and 2008, the rapper grossed well over 4 million dollars tax free dollars.

Ja Rule told reporters, 'Things fell on hard times for me (and) kind of spun out of control". Hold Ya head brother!!

Marc Anthony and Jennifer Lopez call it Quits??!!

Jay-No, say it ain't So!!!!

The Honey Moon is over for the Iconic Latin Couple?! Marc Anthony and Jennifer Lopez announced a few days ago that they plan to divorce. This News comes to us as a complete shocker, the couple seemed to be so happy. The Sexy Latin couple married in June of 2004, later producing a set of gorgeous twins named Max and Emme.


In a statement to People Magazine the couple said "We have decided to end our marriage". "This was a very difficult decision. We have come to an amicable conclusion on all matters."

Unfortunately this is Jennifer's third try at wedding bliss, maybe this Diva enjoys the spotlight solo-mente!! Good Luck!

Planking: The New Craze!

People from all over the world are posting planking pics! This latest Craze has many striking the stiff pose anywhere they can. People are planking at work, on vacation and almost anywhere that they can think of!



What is planking and why are people doing it????




The plank is an actual exercise position designed to strengthen and tighten the ab muscles. Please don't ask me how it worked its way to this because I honestly Don't Know!! But I do know that this new internet craze has become sort of a strange new competition. The trick is to capture your planking pic in a place that's unique and difficult to do.

 

Beware People!! Planking in odd places can be dangerous. People are raising the stakes on planking!! I have seen pictures of people planking on railings, ledges and even train tracks?!





This past May, a young man from Australia fell to his death by attempting to plank on a balcony railing in a pose similar to this pictured on the right.  At first I thought this whole planking craze was something really funny and entertaining. But of course you know too much of a good thing can go really bad...Please be careful people.

The Casey Anthony Verdict: If it doesn't fit, you must acquit?!

On, July.5th 2011, Casey Anthony was found not guilty on all murder charges! The jury refused to convict Casey Anthony for the murder of  2 year-old Caylee Marie Anthony. The decision all came down to evidence! "Casey Anthony was found guilty of four counts of lying to law enforcement and could be released from jail as early as Thursday"- ABC News

A little Background info...

Caylee Marie Anthony disappeared in June 2008. The almost 3- year old Caylee touched our hearts as we watched our sets in hope of her safe return. Caylee's mother, Casey Anthony, failed to report her child missing and was taken into custody, charged with felony murder. Casey Anthony's strange behavior raised lots of questions. She was the prime suspect and the last to see little Caylee alive.






 
"In the summer of 2008, Orlando, Fla. toddler Caylee Anthony disappeared, only to be discovered six months later a short distance from her home, her skeletal remains stuffed in plastic bags and her mouth sealed with duct tape. 51- Year Old "Lost" Actor Marries Teen in Vegas

Actor Doug Hutchison who is known for his roles in "The Green Mile","The X- Files" and "Lost" got married in Vegas. The 51- year -old actor married 16-year-old Courtney Alexis Stodden, who is an aspiring  country singer. The controversial union has been the talk of the town! In the state of Nevada a minor must have the permission on his/ her parent in order to obtain a marriage license."We're very much in love and want to get the message out there that true love can be ageless" said the newly weds to reporters.

Japanese Scientists create meat from human waste...Bon Appetit!

Japanese scientist Mitsuyuki Ikeda from the Okayama Laboratory has discovered a new way to recycle human waste! The scientists have found a way to extract the "good proteins" found in human fecal matter, creating a savory "meat like" substance that resembles beef.

Why, you ask?? Tokyo has a huge problem with their sewage system and they need to discover new ways to eliminate waste. (no pun intended giggle) The Japanese scientists load up the waste into a machine called the "exploder" and out comes artificial steak! According to Digital Trends, it's 63 percent protein, 25 percent carbohydrates, 3 percent lipids and 9 percent minerals. The meat is later colored red and some say it tastes like beef!! Bon Appetit!!

"JackAss" Star Ryan Dunn Died in Car Crash

Ryan Dunn from the all too popular Movie and Television series "Jackass " died early Monday morning  in a horrific car crash. "A preliminary examination of the crash site suggested Dunn's Porsche may have been travelling more than 100 mph (160kph) in the 55 mph zone when it jumped a guardrail, flew into a wooded ravine, struck a tree and burst into flames." The well known actor will be remembered for his stunts and pranks on the multimillion-dollar series "Jackass". Ryan Dunn and friends are pictured here having drinks just a few short hours before the deadly crash.

Movie critic Roger Ebert shamelessly tweeted  "Friends don't let jackasses drink and drive". The movie critic later apologized on his blogsite saying he was "too quick to tweet". It has not been confirmed if the young actor was driving drunk, the toxicology reports are not yet available. The "Talk Is Cheap Blog" would like to extend it's deepest sympathy and condolences to the Family, Friends and Fans of Ryan Dunn, Rest In Peace.

Pants on the Ground: The Sag Swag

The "Sag Swag" is a baffling trend that many people don't seem to understand at all, including myself. It is hard not to notice the strange "penguin like" walk with boxers and briefs in clear view for everyone to see. This unfashionably tasteless fad is inexplicable and has many people just shaking their heads in disgust.




When people think of  sagging pants they  usually associate the style with teens of color or rap artists, but in all actuality people of all walks are incorporating the Sag into their Swag. Why do people sag their pants?? There are many rumors and speculations to why people sag their pants.  Some people say the style originated from prison and others connect it with gang affiliation. Others just do it because they honestly think its a stylish way to rock their denim. At the end of the day, whether you agree with it or not, its a style that seems like it will not be changing anytime soon.

New Smoking Ban In Effect: NO IFs, ANDs,OR BUTTs About it!!

New York City's Public Smoking Law goes into effect Today!! It was in early February where our Mayor Michael Bloomberg signed a bill into law prohibiting public smoking in parks, beaches, board walks and pedestrian plazas. Violators who get caught puffing in public could be fined $50!






This Newly passed Law is expected to improve the quality of life for New Yorkers; protecting them against the dangerous effects of secondhand smoke. The city will be flushed with "no smoking" signs to keep public areas smoke free. This "no smoking" campaign will frustrate a few and cause many people to quit the nicotine puffing habit.

One time for your Mind: For years the Tobacco Industry has made Billions of Dollars, advertising their products to adults and youth; gaining new addicts daily. Many people have become addicted to Nicotine and struggle with their habit. Is it fair to suddenly band what they tried so hard to shove down our throats??!! I am not a smoker nor have ever been one. My Favorite Personalities??!!





Jim Jones and Chrissy are an absolutely adorable couple! Jim Jones is just Jim Jones... Straight Hood forever! Chrissy is an out spoken strong woman who supports her man and his career. The two struggle with relationship and career challenges.-Chrissy doesn't let Jim make her. I love, love, love the fact that she proposed to Jim on the show. The custom designed "dancing diamond" engagement ring was simply hot!! 


 
Olivia is cute and sweet; she struggles to push her faded singing career. Olivia adds flavor to the show as she spies and snitches on people. Emily, Fab's Baby Mama is absolutely gorgeous, but is like a  piece of dry toast. I think she really needs to grow a back bone and stop whining about her pseudo family with Fabolous. 

Somaya, hate her or love her, adds spice to the show. She starts the drama and ruffles plenty of feathers...this chick enjoys the spot light and plans to benefit from all camera time. *smart girl* 

We have reached the season finale of the show. I am more than sure these guys will be asked back for season 2 of Love & Hip Hop!! Will Jim say "yes"? Will Olivia and Somaya find true talent? Will Fab ever pick up Emily's calls on camera? Let's tune in and see.

Osama Bin Laden is Dead!

The Master Mind behind the September 11th Attacks has been captured and killed. President Barack Obama proudly announced the success of an early morning U.S. Military operation that captured and killed the Al Qaeda leader.

“The death of bin Laden marks the most significant achievement to date in our nation’s effort to defeat Al Qaeda,” Obama said. “Yet his death does not mark the end of our effort. There’s no doubt that Al Qaeda will continue to pursue attacks against us. We must –- and we will — remain vigilant at home and abroad.” -President Barack Obama

 The search for Osama Bin Laden had went on for nearly a decade after the September 11th attack. Americans gathered after midnight at the World Trade Site to celebrate the death of Osama Bin Laden and to remember their love ones. The News of  Bin Laden's death circulated for hours on Twitter prior to the President's announcement. It's reported to be one of the most "tweeted" reports to circulate.

Procrastination: The New Dirty word!

Are you always putting things off for tomorrow that you can do today? Saying you will do" it" and never get anything done?! Setting the same goals that never gets accomplished?? Then you my friend are a Procrastinator!! Procrastination is the new swear word that needs to be banned from our language and lifestyles!!

Procrastinate: to defer action; delay: to procrastinate until an opportunity is lost.

Characteristics of a grade A Procrastinator

People who procrastinate tend to put off everything until the last minute. The phrase that pays is always, "I will do it tomorrow". They tend to be indecisive and evasive when it comes to decision making. Procrastinators are often bad with time management and planning.

OH My Goodness, I honestly feel like I am writing about myself! I tend to procrastinate often and suffer the consequences for putting things off until later. Procrastination is bad behavior that must be changed!

Have hope my fellow procrastinators...there is redemption for us yet!! Let's unite and turn over a new leaf!! Lets us do today what we intend on doing tomorrow because we don't want to do it tomorrow anymore??!! I have learned...The First step towards change is a positive attitude; believing that you can change for the better. The second step would be to eliminate all distractions and obstacles that are preventing you from completing your tasks. The third and fourth steps will be easier because the path will be clear for you to achieve your set goals.

Would your favorite rapper, singer or actress be less appealing if you found out they were gay?! (Singing in my Wiz Khalifa voice) Yeah uh huh, you know what it is, rainbow colors, rainbow colors, rainbow colors!! 

Okay seriously, would your favorite celebrity be less appealing if you found out they were gay? Celebrities often hide their sexuality due to a fear of social stigmas and negative reaction from fans.




As fans we often indulge in the latest magazine articles and television interviews just to support and follow our favorite celebrities. But are we digging too deep when we want to know about their sex lives?! I honestly think that an individual's sexuality is very personal and totally separate from his/her professional career. It is sad to think that people are forced to hide who they really are in order to avoid public ridicule and violence. An artist should be loved and appreciated for his/her talent alone. 



Celebrities choose to commit themselves to an entertainment world that can be very cold. The spotlights display their talents as well as their flaws. Remember people, Celebrities are just like us, just with bigger wallets.

60 Day weight Loss Challenge!!

 If you are anything like me, you are totally not ready for the warm weather! I have packed on a few cold season pounds that I need to shed asap!! I was looking at some "before and after" shots of celebrities who have lost weight and am totally motivated to do the same!

I would like to challenge myself and see what I can do in 60 days... Here is my before picture and in 60 days I will post my after picture. My goal is to drop a good 15lbs to 20 lbs and tone up. I recently gave up pork and beef, and have changed the way I eat, but must admit my slip ups are the snacking at the PC when writing. I wonder... Which do men prefer, Boxers or Briefs?! I thought about this as I road the train home from work and searched my brain for interesting topics to blog about. What can be more interesting then finding out from men if they prefer their privates mobile or stationary?! Inquiring mind would like to know.

I have seen a few pairs of boxers, briefs and boxer-briefs in my day. If I may speak for all women and say, what a man wears underneath can enhance or ruin a romantic encounter. Hideous prints or tight diaper like draws, do nothing for me! Just imagine things are getting hot n heavy...then you see giant green clovers or a stain adorned on what he would call underwear...eeewwww. No thank you.



You can tell a lot about men and their underwear!
Lets take a look at the men who rely on their wives or mothers to purchase their undergarments; these men tend to be less responsible and more dependent on others to make decisions. Men who take pride in purchasing and choosing their own undergarments tend be more assertive and confident in character.

Talking About Your Ex with the Next

Are you talking about your ex with your next?? Some people are chatting way too much about their past relationships.Your current love interest does not need to know the specifics of your past relationships. Constantly talking about old flings can steer your new relationship into a dead end. 




If you bring up your past, your new relationship might not last!
Have you ever had a boyfriend or girlfriend mention their Ex to you?? I think we all have. If you haven't...most likely its you mentioning the Ex in conversation!! It is not wise to talk about your past relationships while trying to build a new one.  



Constantly referring to your Ex in conversation might seem like you haven't quite gotten them out of your system. Talking about your past relationships can be a big turn off!! What woman or man wants to sit and listen to you babble on about how bad Jim or Jone treated you in the past?!


It is okay to reflect on past situations and learn from them.

Making a Fresh Start -Listen, your Ex is your Ex for a reason; leave them in the past where they belong!! If it did not work then, most likely it won't work now!! Try to make a fresh start!! You must learn from your bad relationship experiences in order to create new and exciting ones!! Give yourself some time before jumping into a new relationship and remember that all people are not the same!

The shopping cart handle, public drinking fountains and ATM buttons!! Saliva, bacteria and fecal matter can all be found on shopping cart handles. These handles are rarely cleaned and touched by hundreds of people daily! Public drinking fountains are full of germs too! Did you know that school fountains harbor up to 2.7 million germs per square inch of the spigot??!! Chinese researchers found that each ATM key contains on average 1,200 germs!!!

It is so important to constantly wash your hands with soap and warm water. It is also good practice to carry hand sanitizers! Hand sanitizers kill 99.9% of hand bacteria!!

Household Havens for Horrible Germs!!
Your Bathtub and wet laundry can be filled with tons of germs! Your tub may have more than 100,000 bacteria per square inch, including staph bacteria. Even though you regularly clean your tub, you use it to wash germs off your body and the moist environment makes it perfect for germs to grow.Wet laundry can pose a threat of E. coli exposure! One soiled undergarment can contaminate the whole load with bacteria!

Soiled laundry should be washed separately!! Set your washer on hot!! 150 degrees kills germs, in addition to using bleach which kills 99.9% of bacteria.


 
Hand bags are a Heavenly place for Bacteria! Bacteria travel in class, attached to our Nine West or Coach Bags!! Ladies, ever rest your purse on the bathroom floor or sink??? Recent studies show that women can carry tens of thousands of bacteria on the bottom of their purses. Researchers have found Staphylococcus bacteria, Salmonella and E. coli!!



Try hanging your purse on the hook in the bathroom and avoid resting it on the side of the sink. Bacteria can easily survive on our clothing and bags, posing a potential threat to our health.

Germs at the Gym!! Researchers have found Staphylococcus bacteria on Yoga mats and Cardio machines. Communal places are often covered with infectious germs that can pose a threat to our health. It is important to disinfect machines and mats at the gym!!
